Funnels

Create funnels from templates, add steps, edit step pages and read conversion stats.

A funnel chains pages from one of your websites into an ordered conversion flow — landing, opt-in, sales, thank-you — and shows you how many visitors make it from one step to the next. Funnels live under Sites → Funnels.

Funnel steps are ordinary website pages, so you design them in the same visual builder you use for websites. This guide covers creating a funnel, adding and ordering steps, editing the pages, publishing, and reading the stats.

Quick start

  1. Go to Sites → Funnels and select New Funnel.
  2. Pick a template (or Start blank) and choose which website the funnel's pages should live in.
  3. On the funnel page, add or reorder steps, and select Edit page on any step to design it in the builder.
  4. Select Publish to publish every step page and take the funnel live.

Creating a funnel

Select New Funnel at the top of the Funnels page. The dialog gives you three ways to start:

TabWhat it does
From templatePick a ready-made funnel. Each card shows a description and the steps it contains (for example Opt-in → Thank you). Under Install into, choose to create a new website for the funnel or add its pages to one of your existing websites.
Start blankEnter a Funnel name and pick the Website whose pages will make up the steps — or choose to create a new website and give it a name. The funnel starts with no steps.
Generate with AIDescribe your offer in plain language and optionally pick a funnel style. A complete funnel is drafted and installed for you to edit.

Whichever path you use, you land on the new funnel's page when it's created.

The Funnels list

The Funnels page lists every funnel with its Name, the Website it belongs to, the number of Steps, its Status, and when it was last Updated. Select a row to open it. The row menu offers:

  • Open — go to the funnel page.
  • Rename — change the funnel's name (step pages are unaffected).
  • Archive / Restore — archive a funnel you're not using, or bring it back as a draft.
  • Delete — remove the funnel and its step ordering. The website pages are not deleted; they stay editable under the funnel's website.

Funnel statuses

StatusMeaning
DraftThe funnel isn't live yet.
PublishedThe funnel is live and its step pages are published.
ArchivedSet aside; restore it to keep working on it.

Working with steps

Open a funnel to see its steps as numbered cards, ordered top to bottom. Each card shows the step's name, its type, the page's own publish status (Page draft or Page published), its conversion event if one is set, and — once the funnel has traffic — its visitors, conversions, and conversion rate.

You can also rename the funnel here: select the pencil next to its name, type a new one, and press Enter.

Adding a step

Select Add step. You can either:

  • Pick an existing page from the funnel's website. Pages that are already steps in this funnel are hidden from the list.
  • Create a new page inline: enter a name (the web address slug is generated from it) and the page is created on the website and attached as a step. Creating a page needs the websites: create permission.

Give the step a name and a type, then add it. New steps go to the end of the funnel.

Step types

TypeTypical use
LandingThe first page visitors arrive on
Opt-inCollect an email or phone number
SalesPresent the offer
CheckoutTake payment
UpsellOffer an add-on after checkout
DownsellA cheaper alternative if the upsell is declined
WebinarWebinar registration
ApplicationAn application or qualification form
BookingBook an appointment
Thank youConfirmation page

The type is a label that helps you (and the template gallery) describe the flow; it doesn't change how the page renders.

Reordering steps

Use the up and down arrows on the left of each card to move it. The order you see is the order used for the drop-off stats.

Step settings

Select the settings icon on a step to change its name, its step type, or its conversion event.

By default a step counts as converted when the visitor reaches the next step. If you'd rather count something specific — a form submission or a purchase you track as a conversion event — enter that event's name as the step's conversion event, and the step's conversions and rate are calculated from it instead.

Editing the page

Select Edit page on a step to open that page in the website builder. Everything in the Website Builder guide applies: drag in elements and ready-made sections, style them in the right panel, and save as you go.

Removing a step

Select the trash icon on a step and confirm. The step is removed from the funnel and the remaining steps close the gap. The page itself is not deleted — it stays on the website.

Publishing

Select Publish at the top of the funnel page. The platform publishes every step page that isn't already published, then marks the funnel Published. The button is unavailable until the funnel has at least one step.

Publishing pages requires the websites: publish permission. If you can update funnels but can't publish pages, the funnel is marked Published but its pages are left as they are — ask someone with publish rights to publish them from the builder.

To take a funnel back to Draft, select the same button again. The step pages stay as they were; only the funnel's status changes.

Reading the stats

Once the funnel has visitors, the top of the funnel page shows four cards:

CardWhat it shows
Visitors enteredPeople who reached the first step
Completed funnelPeople who reached the last step
Overall conversionCompleted as a share of entered
Biggest drop-offThe pair of consecutive steps where the most visitors were lost, with the percentage lost — the first place to look when tuning

Each step card shows its own visitors, conversions, and conversion rate underneath its name.

Permissions

Funnels are part of Sites, so they use the website permissions:

  • Viewing funnels requires websites: read.
  • Creating funnels (and creating pages inline) requires websites: create.
  • Renaming, archiving, adding, reordering, and removing steps requires websites: update.
  • Publishing step pages requires websites: publish.
  • Deleting a funnel requires websites: delete.

If you can't see the Funnels page, ask your organization owner to grant the right permission. See Team, Roles & Permissions.

Tips

  • Start from a template whose steps match your offer, then rewrite the copy — it's faster than assembling pages one by one.
  • Keep every step on one website so the pages share a domain and the funnel flows naturally from page to page.
  • Set a conversion event on any step where "reached the next page" isn't the real goal.
  • Watch the biggest drop-off card after publishing; that step is where a small change makes the largest difference.
