Website builder

Build and publish sites with a drag-and-drop editor and custom domains.

Build and publish websites with a drag-and-drop visual editor — no code required. Create pages, design them visually, connect your own domain, and go live.

This guide covers the whole flow: creating a site, designing pages, publishing, and connecting a custom domain.

Quick start

  1. Go to Sites → Websites in the left menu.
  2. Click New website, give it a name, and create it.
  3. Open the website to launch the visual builder.
  4. Add a section in Builder → Visual, then double-click its text to edit it.
  5. Click Publish when you're ready for visitors to see it.

Creating a website

A website is a container for one or more pages (like a Home page, About page, and Contact page).

To create one:

  1. Open Sites → Websites.
  2. Click New website.
  3. Enter a name. You can also start from an existing site by using Duplicate on any website card.
  4. Click create — the builder opens automatically.

You can manage all your sites from the Websites screen: rename them, duplicate them, or delete them. Deleting a site removes its pages, so do this carefully.

Designing a page in the builder

Choose Builder for one-page editing or Canvas for the existing freeform workspace. Both edit the same draft and use the same undo history.

In Builder, Visual displays the page layout. Double-click text (or focus it and press Enter), type, then click away to save the edit. Escape cancels the current text edit. Select an image or another element to configure it in the right panel. Structure exposes the nested blocks, text fields, and Move up/down controls. Desktop and Mobile switch the editing viewport.

Use Add hero, Add text section, or Add call to action for native section presets. The call-to-action button needs an action configured in the right panel. Add element inserts text, an image, or a button into the selected section, or the page if no section is selected. Undo removes an inserted preset as one operation.

Advanced blocks—including forms, commerce, shared components, and CMS lists—appear as labeled blocks in Visual view. Their data is preserved; use their settings or Canvas to configure them. Live actions and navigation are intercepted in the editing surface.

Canvas has three main areas:

AreaWhat it does
Left sidebarThe elements and ready-made sections you can drag onto the page
Center canvasThe live page you're designing
Right panelSettings for whatever element you've selected (colors, spacing, text, links)

Adding elements

Drag items from the left sidebar onto the canvas. Elements are grouped to make them easy to find:

  • Layout — sections and containers that hold other elements
  • Basic Elements — Text, Image, Video, Button, and embeddable Form
  • Navigation — menu/nav bars
  • Footer — footer sections
  • Social Proof — logos, member counts, and testimonial blocks
  • E-commerce and Payment — product and checkout elements (see below)

Ready-made sections

Instead of building from scratch, you can drop in pre-built sections — professionally designed blocks for Navigation, Hero sections, Content, Social Proof, Call to Action, and Footers. Drag one in, then edit the text and images to match your brand.

Styling and content

Select any element to edit it in the right panel. You can change text, colors, fonts, spacing, borders, background, and links. The builder is responsive, so your page adapts to phones and tablets automatically — you can preview different screen sizes as you work.

Saving

Your work saves as you go. Changes you make are kept as a draft until you publish, so you can edit safely without affecting your live page.

Switching pages keeps changes queued for each edited page. If saving fails, use Retry in the error banner. Dismissing the banner does not mark those changes as saved. If another editor changed the same page, the newer draft stays in place and your save is refused. Keep your local work open while you review the conflict; reloading replaces your local draft with the server version. A page saved by one organization is not readable or writable by another.

Working with multiple pages

A website can hold many pages. Use the Pages panel in the builder to:

  • Add a new page
  • Duplicate an existing page
  • Reorder pages
  • Rename a page or change its slug (the part of the web address, e.g. /about)
  • Set SEO details (page title and description that show in search results and social shares)
  • Archive or delete pages you no longer need

Publishing

Pages start as drafts. To make a page visible to the public:

  1. Open the page in the builder (or find it in the Pages panel).
  2. Click Publish.

The builder waits for pending draft saves before publishing. A save failure or a conflicting revision stops publication. Changes you make while publication is in progress remain draft edits for your next publication.

Published pages go live immediately at your site's address. If you need to take a page offline, use Unpublish — it stays saved, just hidden from visitors.

You can preview any page at any time before publishing using the preview link in the builder.

Connecting a custom domain

By default your site is reachable on a built-in address. To use your own domain (like www.yourbusiness.com):

  1. Go to Domains in the left menu.
  2. Click Add domain and enter your domain name.
  3. The app shows you the exact DNS records to add (A, CNAME, and a TXT record for ownership). Add these at your domain registrar or DNS provider.
  4. Come back and click Verify. The app checks your records live and shows their status.
  5. Once verified, choose which published page is the default page (the one shown when someone visits your domain's root).

DNS changes can take a little while to take effect. If verification fails right away, wait a few minutes and try Verify again.

Custom domains may require a paid plan. If the option is unavailable, check your plan under Settings → Billing.

Selling on your site (optional)

If you sell products, you can turn on e-commerce for a website:

  1. In the website settings, enable e-commerce.
  2. The app sets up the store pages for you, and you can add E-commerce and Payment elements (product listings, add-to-cart buttons, checkout) to your pages.

To accept real payments, connect Stripe under Settings → Integrations. See the Payments guide for details.

Tips

  • Start from a pre-built section to move fast, then customize.
  • Set the page title and description for every page so it looks good in search results and when shared.
  • Preview before you publish, especially on mobile sizes.
  • Verify your domain DNS can take time — be patient and re-check.
