Pipelines

Deal boards with lanes, tickets, values, deadlines and assignees.

Pipelines are drag-and-drop boards for tracking deals and work as they move through stages. Each pipeline is a set of columns called lanes, and each lane holds tickets — cards you drag from one stage to the next. Tickets can carry a deal value, a deadline, an assignee, and a linked lead, so a board doubles as a sales pipeline with running totals per stage.

To open your pipelines, select Pipelines in the sidebar. You land on the pipeline you looked at last (or the default one), and each pipeline has its own URL you can bookmark or share with teammates.

Your first pipeline

The first time anyone in your workspace opens Pipelines, a Sales Pipeline is created automatically with five lanes: New Lead, Qualified, Proposal, Negotiation, and Won. You can rename or delete any of them.

Switching and creating pipelines

The pipeline switcher sits at the top of the board next to the "Pipeline" heading.

  • Open it and pick a pipeline, or type in Search pipelines… to filter the list.
  • Select Create pipeline, enter a name, and confirm. New pipelines start with three lanes — To Do, In Progress, and Done — and you're taken straight to the new board.

Creating pipelines requires the pipelines: create permission. The number of pipelines you can have is set by your plan; if you're at the limit, you'll be prompted to upgrade.

Lanes

Lanes are the columns on the board. Each lane header shows its name, the number of tickets in it, and the total value of all its tickets (in your workspace's currency).

To…Do this
Add a laneSelect Add Lane at the right end of the board, enter a name, and select Create Lane.
Rename a laneDouble-click the lane name, type the new name, and press Enter.
Reorder lanesDrag a lane by the grip handle at the left of its header and drop it where you want it.
Delete a laneOpen the lane's menu and choose Delete Lane, then confirm.

Boards with many lanes load more as you scroll sideways, and long lanes load more tickets as you scroll down.

Tickets

Tickets are the cards inside lanes. A card shows the ticket's title, a preview of its description, and — when set — its value, deadline, linked lead, and assignee's avatar.

Adding a ticket

  1. Select Add Ticket at the bottom of a lane.
  2. Enter a title (the placeholder reads "What needs to be done?"), and optionally a description and the properties described below.
  3. Select Create. The ticket appears at the top of the lane and stays open so you can keep filling in details.

The number of tickets you can have is set by your plan; at the limit you'll be prompted to upgrade.

Moving tickets

Drag a ticket to another lane to move it to that stage, or drag it up and down within a lane to reorder. Lane counts and totals update as you drop. Moving tickets requires the pipelines: update permission.

Ticket details

Select a ticket to open it. The ticket's ID is added to the page URL, so you can share a link that opens straight to that ticket. Press Escape or select × to close it.

The main area holds the title (select it to edit) and a rich-text description that saves automatically as you type — you'll see "Saving…" and then "Saved" in the header. Type / in the description for formatting commands.

The sidebar shows when the ticket was created and last updated, plus its properties:

PropertyWhat it does
Assigned ToPick a teammate responsible for the ticket. Their avatar appears on the card.
LeadLink the ticket to a contact from your CRM. The lead's name and email appear on the card. Once linked, a chat icon lets you open that lead's conversations without leaving the board.
DeadlinePick a due date from the calendar. It appears on the card with a flag.
ValueEnter a monetary amount for the deal. It appears on the card and counts toward the lane's total.

If you don't have the pipelines: update permission you can open tickets but not change them.

Deleting a ticket

Open the ticket's menu on its card and choose Delete, then confirm with Delete Ticket. Deleting requires the pipelines: delete permission.

Working with leads from the board

When a ticket is linked to a lead, hover over its card and select the chat icon (Open conversation) to open the lead's communications panel. From there you can read and reply to the lead's conversations, then close the panel and carry on with the board. Managing leads themselves is covered in CRM.
